In 1976 St Joe Minerals Corp. donated this 8,238 acre former lead mine to the state of
The trails wind through 1,200 acres of wooded hillsides and 800 acres of sand flats, or tailings, left by the remains of the lead mining process that ended here in 1972. The groomed trails are numbered and map stations are dispersed throughout the park creating a useful navigation system. The complimentary ORV rinse bays, located by the staging area, are a great way to knock the dust off after an enjoyable day of riding at

For those of you who want to combine camping with your off-road adventures, this park offers exceptional facilities. Campground #1, for ORV camping only, boasts 45 electric and 35 basic camp sites, as well as, private hot showers, toilets, laundry room, dump station, recycling center, woodlot, swimming, bicycling and a park for the kids to play. For convenience, a trail, for ORV use, provides access from the campground to the park office and ORV riding areas.
